Venues

Venues are found everwhere.

The venue is an important factor for your ceremony.
You need to work out what special place you would like for your ceremony quite early.
Be it a wedding, funeral, naming or other ceremony.

Some that I highly recommend are:
Stones of the Yarra Valley -
www.stonesoftheyarravalley.com
Red Scooter - East St. Kilda. - www.redscooter.com.au
Chateau Yering- Yarra Valley -
www.chateauyering.com.au/
Nathania Springs - Monbulk - www.nathaniasprings.com.au/
Another wonderful place is the Anchorage Restaurant - Williamstown.

Important factors on choosing a location:

How many guests will be attending.
The ability of guests to get to the venue - elderly guests etc
Time of year
Time of day
Cost
Travelling time from ceremony to reception
The noise from other sources - roads, events closeby

Some of the most beautiful weddings are held in parks, on the beach, at particular landmarks etc. Funerals tend to be in more formal places - however a service can also be held in a favourite place. For instance my father chose to have his ashes scattered across the Mitta Mitta river, where he spent many wonderful times fishing.

Namings can also be held at any place.

Some of the more frequented places are listed here:

Royal Botanic Gardens
Pioneer Womens Garden (Kings Domain)
Fitzroy and Treasury Gardens
Williamstown Botanic Gardens
Werribee Mansion
Burnley Gardens, Burnley
Conservatory - Fiztroy Gardens
Alexandra Gardens, Kew
Katani Gardens, St Kilda
St Kilda Botanic Gardens, St Kilda
National Gallery of Victoria
Melbourne Town Hall
Melbourne Museum
Fairfield - Studley Park

Most of the beaches along the bay -at times that are conducive to privacy

On the banks of many rivers....
