Celebrant Fees

The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of cheaper prices is forgotten.....

A truly professional celebrant is worth the investment. The difference in hiring a true professional is striking. There are a hundred details which contribute to a great ceremony, but we do not expect you to know all of them.

To offer you the very best options and flexibility I base my fee on $80.00 per hour. After meeting with you I can confirm the fee based on your needs and budget. So come along and meet me at a no obligation meeting and discuss your plans.

Just to give you a comparison of what you are investing in, if you were to decide to marry at the Registry Office, which is no more than a legal ceremony of approx 10 mins with no input by you - you would expect to pay close to $500.00.

If you are comparing celebrants and costs then consider the following:

  1. A professional presentation is not something everyone can do well - even if they have done it for 10-20 years.
  2. Many people are not confident with a PA system - I am. (And, I provide a top of the range wireless PA system).
  3. I have nearly 16 years experience as a well known, sought after celebrant and trainer of celebrants.
  4. I have 25 years experience as a Musician and msic teacher  - I can recommend music to you - and happy to arrange it for you.
  5. I write a personalised ceremony - different for every single couple - not just give you options for each section - and then your names get added - that is not a personalised ceremony - that is choosing from a shopping list.
  6. For a wedding I arrive early at the rehearsal and around 1 hour before the ceremony on the day of your wedding - I do my sound check, check the music, make sure the venue has everything ready for you, and then relax and wait for your arrival.
  7. I don't race off later - trying to get to my next ceremony. Chances are I wont even book another wedding on your special day, so I can give you the very best attention.
  8. I dress appropriately - not over dressed - nor under dressed - I check on your colours for the day, and I check on the dress code. Then I give you options of what I could wear.
  9. I am there to make you feel relaxed - Being organised and professional you will feel that you have left everything in the hands of someone who cares!
  10. I practice the choreography for the ceremony so it all flows and you feel relaxed about what happens when - and I do this on-site - at your venue. Even if I have done it 100 times in that same spot before - It is not MY rehearsal - it is yours, and it will be different from everyone else's rehearsal.
  11. I am fully conversant and comfortable with rituals and symbolism - so if you'd like we can include them in your ceremony.
  12. i am a member of a number of associations
  13. I am fully covered with Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurances.
  14. and most of all - I LOVE WHAT I DO - and it shows!!

Just to give you an idea of costs:

If I was to create a one-off personalised ceremony for you and your fiance, have a number of meetings with you, conduct an on-site rehearsal and travel within 100 klms radius - then  you should expect to pay from $800 to $1000 for my time, investment and skill resulting in a truly professional unique ceremony.

If you were to create your own ceremony with my help and resources, have a number of meetings with you, conduct an on-site rehearsal and travel within 100 klms radius - then you should expect to pay a minimum of $600 for my time, investment and skill resulting in a truly professional  ceremony.

If you were to elope and have an intimate ceremony with just a handful of people, at my place or closeby, then you should expect to pay approx $400 for my time, investment and skill resulting in a truly professional  ceremony.
